My son has been a student of Ms.Ran Tao for around 7 years. She has been a wonderful teacher patiently guiding him in her gentle yet firm manner towards molding him into a better violin player. Ms.Ran not only focuses on basics such as posture, bow hold and fingering techniques to lay a strong foundation, she also adds value by talking about the showmanship aspects while performing in auditions or on stage. Her dedication and passion towards music are a source of inspiration. Vedant loves her classes.

Ran is an extraordinary, classically trained musician who is able to convey her love and passion for music to her students. In her lessons she is both patient and inspiring as she works to give students the sound foundation which will allow them to grow and excel as their playing progresses.  She is also incredibly patient "re-teaching" students who may have picked up "bad playing habits" from other classes such as poor bow holds, posture and fingering techniques. Ran also knows exactly when to take out her own violin to demonstrate something for her students and my daughter is overjoyed when she and Ran play a piece together. I highly recommend Ran to anyone considering violin lessons for their child.

My son Bryan has been taking violin lesson with Ms. Ran for a year. Ms. Ran shows a great amount of patience, good humor and extraordinary violin teaching expertise during the lessons. My son has shown great progress and continues to get better by learning from Ms. Ran. We have been very lucky to have found a teacher as talented as Ms. Ran and we would strongly recommend her to others!

Ran was such a wonderful instructor and overall person. My son loved her and so did I. My 10 year old learned so much from Ran, because she has so much knowledge and passion for the violin. I just recently moved out of the area, so I am not within driving distance anymore to Ran. However, I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn the violin or sharpen an already existing skillset. I believe Ran has transferred her passion for the violin to my son and to myself as well. I wish I could give her 10 stars! She is awesome!!!!

I have known Ms. Ran Tao for years and have collaborated with her teaching music in community and private music schools as well as in giving symphonic and chamber music concerts in New York City and in New Jersey. I am a music teacher for the New York City Public Schools, Harlem Children's Zone, Stevens Cooperative School, and the Brooklyn Queens Conservatory of Music.

Ms. Tao is passionate in giving music education to children so that this precious human art form is kept alive for future generations! Her many years of professional training and teaching experience have built up within her the knowledge and skills to motivate, and to inspire students of all levels in learning. She is insightful and thoughtful to her students, and to people around her. She is extremely easy to work with. Any school or student would be lucky to have such a nurturing and dedicated teacher. Ran is a wonderful musician as well, and one needs to only hear her play for a moment to see what a versatile, talented and musical violinist she is!

My kid learned violin for 5 years with Miss Ran since switched from a beginner class. She had been a wonderful teacher, very patient to correct the positions, explaining and modeling what she instructed so that the young student grasped the skills quickly and efficiently. She had very talented tone accuracy and music understanding. She taught my kid not only the techniques but also music meanings, musical spirit and musicianship. My kid made marked improvement and passed higher grade ABRSM exams with merit scores.

It's a luck to find Ms. Ran Tao as my daughter's violin teacher. She not only knows well of her profession of violin, she also knows well how to effectively transmit her profession to her student. She really is an excellent violin teacher, passionate, dedicated, experienced, diligent, patient and amiable. She can handle all kinds of level, from very low to very high, because she herself is a great violinist.

Hi, Ms. Tao: Good news: Grace has successfully advanced to the Upper Level in the Youth Orchestra of New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. You did a good job in teaching her. That's also your success! Thank you! God bless you and your whole family!

I have known her for twenty years and she is an exceptional, talented and hard working young woman with a delightful personality. She completed her education in New York with numerous scholarship awards for her outstanding grades in the study of music. She has always applied herself with total commitment to any task she has undertaken and she has always worked diligently to succeed at whatever she does.

It has been my privilege to act as a business and career advisor to Ran for many years.  She responds well to any advice she is given and has always worked hard towards any goal she sets for herself.   She is a remarkably disciplined young woman.

Ran is both a talented violinist and a dedicated teacher.  Her musical training is superb and she has the ability to share her knowledge as a teacher with both young and old students.  Her performance skills are excellent and she is equally comfortable playing with a small chamber group or a large orchestra.

About two years ago, Ran came to Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center to do volunteer work for the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine. During her time with us, Ran has also taught violin lessons to musicians in our department. She has trained in the Suzuki method and works with children. At the same time, she is flexible and also works with students who have begun to play the instrument as adults. Ran demonstrates patience, friendy discipline and a clear step-by-step approach to imparting the techniques required for skillful control of the instrument and the music.

Ran plays with Chamber Groups in New York City and when the opportunity presents itself, she treats us to hearing her performances, it was always a pleasure.

I have no doubt that Ran's friendly and helpful attitude will continue to serve her well as she uses her talents and skills to fulfill whatever challenges she meets.
